Orthopedic Associates (OA) is recruiting Certified Athletic Trainers to join our company. These positions will be based out of our Spooky Nook Sports Champion Mill, Hamilton location.
OA is a privately-owned, regional leader in comprehensive orthopedic care. Since 1985, patients have placed their trust in our specialized care of the hand and upper extremities, spine, shoulder, elbow, hip, knee, foot and ankle, trauma, total joint and sports medicine. With over 30 providers, Orthopedic Associates provides patient care at multiple locations throughout the Miami Valley region. SUMMARY:
Athletic Trainers specialize in the prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of patient injuries related to physical activity, sports, and exercise.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
• Assisting providers in patient examinations and procedures.
• Obtaining and documenting patient vital signs and medical/medication history.
• Preparing patients for x-rays, tests and treatments.
• If applicable, educate patients on the importance of wearing a brace as prescribed by their provider and demonstrating proper application and adjustment techniques.
• Educating patients on various health topics .
• Administrative duties such as answering patient phone calls, returning voicemails, scheduling appointments and surgery scheduling.
Competencies:
• Foundation in sports medicine, staying up to date on the latest research and advancements in the field.
• Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and other healthcare professionals.
• Adhere to ethical standards and professional guidelines while demonstrating professionalism, respect, and confidentiality.
• Ability to collaborate effectively, communicate clearly and contribute to a cohesive healthcare approach for patient care.
Required Education and Experience:
• ATC- Certified Athletic Trainer
Preferred Education and Experience:
• Health care industry experience
• Athletic training experience
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, clinical medicine, surgery, diagnostic tests, radiology, pathology, pharmacology, and the various medical specialties as required in areas of responsibility.
Work Authorization
• Must be able to provide required documentation stating that the employee is legal to work in the United States.
