Summary/Purpose
JTEKT North America is a global leader in engineering and manufacturing automotive systems, bearing solutions, and high-performance machine tools.  This position will have responsibility of being the lead for product chemical compliance for JNA produced product as well as JTEKT product sold within North America. Product chemical compliance activities will center around being JNA’s primary contact with our outsourced supplier. This position will also process International Material Data System (IMDS)requests for the Bearings Business Unit.
Essential Duties and Accountabilities:
• Be the primary contact for JNA Chemicals in Products a nd BBU IMDS.
• Serve as the primary liaison between JTEKT North America (JNA) and JNA’s Outsourced Product Chemical Compliance Supplier, managing the partnership and ensuring all outsourced activities align with our strategic objectives and compliance requirements.
• Serve as the primary liaison for obtaining compliance information from JTEKT Japan for product produced in Japan but sold in North America.
• Interpret bill of material data to support discussions between JNA Engineering, JNA Suppliers and JNA’s Outsourced Product Chemical Compliance Supplier.
• Oversee meetings with cross functional teams (manufacturing, sales, purchasing, supplier advancement, product management, legal, and engineering) to resolve any issues related to interfaces with JNA’s Outsourced Product Chemical Compliance Supplier.
• Develop continuous improvement ideas related to Product Chemical Compliance for JNA.
• Coordinate with cross-functional business areas, including Purchasing, Engineering, Business Processes, IT, and JNA’s Outsourced Supplier to gather necessary data and address Product Chemical Compliance requests outside of the Outsourced Supplier’s scope. i.e. – Customer specific forms/requests
• For the International Material Data System (IMDS), based on analysis of the bill of material, work with the manufacturing plants to gather the material breakdown and weights for the part numbers (including components) submitted on the requests from BBU manufacturing locations .
• Enter material data into IMDS and resolve any conflicts that arise from data entered.
• Maintain Key Performance Indicator’s related to Chemicals in Products. This includes BBU IMDS and JNA Product Chemical Compliance . Develop action plans as needed when KPI is negatively trending.  Ensure efficiency and effectiveness of JNA locations following the JNA Product Chemical Compliance guideline.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Organized s elf-starter with strong attention to detail.  Must have st rong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead cross functional meetings.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills – SharePoint, Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook. Open to learning and applying new IT technologies to improve productivity.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.  Good multitasking capabilities along with proficiency in time and project management skills.
Education and Experience (preferred):
• Bachelor’s degree or minimum of 5 years’ experience in working in a collaborative environment with sales, manufacturing, and engineering. Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and work well with cross-functional groups.
• Able to gain understanding of chemical management, environmental regulations, and material compliance in the manufacturing sector, preferably within the automotive industry.

• Occasional travel required to visit manufacturing locations.
