General Definition of Work Performs intermediate semiskilled work setting up, tearing down, cleaning, and maintaining Salem Stadium and occasionally civic facilities; operates nonspecialized equipment in connection with manual tasks; does related work as required. Work is performed under regular supervision of the Operations Supervisor Stadiums.
Essential Functions Performs various grounds and athletic facility maintenance duties;
Loads and unloads materials, tools and equipment;
Sets up and tears down facility for sports events, and other activities;
Performs set up, repair, and maintenance on a variety of equipment including scoreboards, lighting, public address systems;
Cuts grass, trims bushes, pulls weeds, and rakes leaves;
Cleans and maintains facility, grounds, and fields;
Picks up paper and debris;
Assists event staff and security during events, and assists the general public as needed;
Assists with snow and ice removal;
Performs related tasks as required.

Special Requirements Special Requirements:
Valid driver's license in the Commonwealth of Virginia may be required.
Education & Experience:
Less than high school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Some knowledge of the safe use, operation and preventive maintenance of the equipment to which assigned; skill in the use of hand tools and equipment to which assigned; ability to understand and follow specific oral instructions; ability to perform manual labor for extended periods, often under unfavorable weather conditions; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates.
Must be able to operate mower, weed-eater, and gator/golf cart
