Full job description
We are seeking compassionate, trustworthy, and reliable self-starters to join our growing transportation team. In this role, you will provide for the transportation of clients to and from hospitals, nursing and rehabilitation facilities, dialysis centers, medical offices, private residences, airports, outings and events. Furthermore, you will ensure that all passengers reach their destinations safely and in a timely fashion. That means ensuring that everyone is safely strapped in his or her seatbelt and/or wheelchair restraints to have an enjoyable, comfortable ride.
Essential Duties:
• Transporting clients utilizing company vehicle in a professional manner.
• Operating vehicle in a safe manner to include parking the vehicle and pulling into/out of temporary loading/unloading areas
• Assisting clients in getting onto the vehicle and safely inside of their respective destination
• Utilizing smart mobile technology to interact with dispatching staff to obtain client trip schedules, report the time of passenger pick ups and drop offs, as well as any changes to schedule or traffic delays. Notifying the client, if necessary, of late arrivals
• Reporting any incidents or accidents to the supervisor
• Maintaining a professional image and attitude with clients, visitors, and co-workers
• Operating wheelchair lifts and securing wheelchairs and stretchers in the vehicle
• Completing daily vehicle pre-trip and post-trip inspections, and maintain vehicle cleanliness
• Adhering to company policies and standard operating procedures
Required Experience:
• Must be 21 years of age or older with a HS diploma or GED
• Must be able to operate the hydraulic wheelchair lift to safely put a client in/off the vehicle.
• Must possess a valid state-issued, non-expired driver’s license, and provide a current DMV printout
• No more than 2 moving violations or "at fault" accidents within the past 3 years
• Ability to understand and operate smart mobile technology, GPS applications, 2-way radios, and cell phones
• Ability to pass a mandatory pre-employment drug and alcohol screening and criminal background investigation
• Ability to read, write, and understand English
• Ability to physically step up and down, bend, stoop, and safely secure clients for transport, lift up to 50 lbs., and transport wheelchair clients on paved and unpaved surfaces
• Ability to adhere to HIPAA and client confidentiality mandates
