Job Description Summary
The Supplier Quality Technical Leader for Special Processes will work closely with Onshore Wind Sourcing, Material Processing Engineering, and the Global Supplier Quality team on all special processes required to effectively support supplier quality requirements for assigned wind turbine components and suppliers.
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
As the Supplier Quality Technical Leader for Special Processes Onshore Wind, you will be responsible for:
• Maintain the Global NDT Program utilizing GE NDT Level 3's per GE Specifications
• Supporting a group of Subject Matter Experts (SME's) in special processes to secure integrity of Non-Destructive Testing
• Instruct NDT Courses for the Supplier Quality team and maintain the NDT Limited Auditor Training Program
• Maintain/ Develop global standard audit process for accreditation by Special Process
• Manage audits for Special Processes on "Non-Critical Parts", or "Critical" parts with no TPG Accreditation
• Process Owner for any Supplier Quality Special Process QMS documents and work with Materials Engineering team to update any GE Special Process Specifications
• Manage Initiatives/Projects for special processes (example: UT Overchecks, Weld Defect Rates, PAUT on tower welds)
• Manage any Special Processes Validation Testing Programs to ensure special process integrity and quality (example: Welding, Charpy Testing)
Qualifications/Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree in a Technical field from an accredited university or college
• Minimum of 5 years of special process experience in Welding, Nondestructive Testing and Coatings
• Ability and willingness to travel 40% as required
Desired Characteristics
• Currently holding Level 3 NDT certifications per ASNT or ISO for the following NDT Methods: VT, MT, UT
• English language skills
• Experience working with Fabrications, Castings, Forgings and Composites
• Heat Treatment Experience
• Certified in advanced UT methods such as PAUT or TOFD
• Currently holding weld inspection certification
• Currently holding NACE certification
• Experience working with suppliers
• Auditing experience
• Ability to work in a cross-functional and global team environment
• Written and verbal communication skills
• Related Wind sourcing and/or manufacturing experience
• Lean Six Sigma trained and certified or equivalent quality training and certification
• Experience on Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP)
• Demonstrated technical aptitude and a passion for quality
• Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills
