We are small, growth-focused company seeking to hire a Chemist to assist with research on novel synthetic methods for material science applications. Position is located at our headquarters in Greer, SC with a full time schedule of 8am to 5pm. MAJOR DUTIES: Performs synthetic reactions in a bench-scale and kilo-scale laboratory for pre-production process development Develop and optimize synthetic methods to synthesize compounds in support of new product development Purify the products of multiple-step syntheses on gram to kilogram reaction scales. Characterize the products of chemical reactions using appropriate instrumentation including, but not limited to IR spectroscopy, DSC, TGA and particle size analysis. Collects experimental data, interprets test results, and develops test methods/protocols as necessary Authors data summary reports and regular project updates to be shared amongst multi-functional teams including sales, business development, research, and possibly end customers.
