As a Registered Veterinary Technician, you will assist the veterinarian to give the best quality care to all of our patients, while doing other tasks throughout the hospital. Position Requirements: Associates or Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university. Degree in Animal Science, Biology or Veterinary Technology, This person must have passed the VTNE and be licensed by the OVMLB. Two (2) years of experience working in the veterinary field. Exhibits effective communication skills, both oral and written, with clients and staff. Ability to multi-task. Demonstrates basic computer skills. Works at least one weekend each month. Possess ability to lift 50 lbs. Duties and Responsibilities: Provides client education. Demonstrates the ability to effectively communicate with clients. Restrains patients using proper techniques for any task or procedure. Assists Veterinarian(s) with appointments, good husbandry, quality care to patients and administering medications to patients as directed by the Veterinarian. Assisting with inventory counts and maintaining inventory stock. Prepares supplies and equipment for all procedures. Collecting laboratory samples for test and running in-house Demonstrates the ability to run and monitoring anesthesia. Prepares patient for surgery; ensuring proper equipment is available for the procedure. Uses and maintains medial equipment according to the maintenance log. Provides support for CSR's by effectively answering in-coming phone calls, scheduling appointments, and entering clients histories correctly. Restocks medical supplies/non-medical supplies throughout the practice. Assisting with inventory and incoming supplies. Assists with housekeeping activities such as, but not limited to cleaning exam rooms, cleaning treatment area, cleaning cages and kennels, washing dishes, laundry, cleaning dental table and surgery, cleaning surgery instruments, cleaning and re-rapping surgery instruments and end of day task. Assists with tasks associated with daily opening and closing of the office. Assists with additional tasks as directed by other staff members. Participates in staff and group meetings.
