Roanoke Server - Part Time. 20-30 hours per week. Shifts can be from 3:00pm - 7:00pm or 11:00am - 7:00pm. Varying weekdays, weekends and holidays are needed. Job Description JOB SUMMARY: Dietary Aides are assigned to the dining rooms in Health Services. They provide all aspects of service to the residents. Dietary Aides plate food, check quality, and temperatures before service according to the resident’s selection. Provides snacks and nourishments for Health Services. Assist in maintaining records of resident menu selections, nourishments, production sheets, and temperature logs. Learns resident’s dietary requirements and ensures compliance. Maintains all records of Health Services meal deliveries. Performs routine cleaning, dining room set-up and assists in special functions. Job Duties (Essential) Completes daily set-up and breakdown procedures for each dining room. Serves menu items according to the resident’s order. Serves meals to residents in proper dining fashion. Ensures that all food served to residents is the proper temperature, consistency, and appropriately presented. Assures resident choice and dietary requirements. Handles food, equipment, and supplies in accordance with Health Department regulations. Responsible for clearing courses, bussing, and resetting tables. Performing cleaning of assigned areas. Must work to our high standards of cleanliness and neatness. Participates in set-up and breakdown of special function events. Maintains nourishments and supplies for Health Service according to par stock levels. Supports Health Services and Lifestyle and Wellness with dining requests. Attends all in-service training sessions. Responsible for resident satisfaction during the dining experience. All other duties as assigned. Qualifications Willingness to learn basic knowledge of dining procedures to perform at an entry-level for creating the dining experience. Willingness to learn basic knowledge of food service, presentation, customer service, and sanitation. Ability to compute basic culinary math and measurements. Ability to read and understand English. Good communication skills and willingness to work with senior adults. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS High School diploma or GED preferred. Experience in working with therapeutic diets preferred. Food Handler Certification within six months of hire. Passing score on the Pinnacle Living ServSafe test. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS Ability to lift 30lbs. unaided. Extensive walking, bending, stooping, standing, pulling, pushing, and carrying. Ability to taste and smell. Exposure to heat and cold. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks. Universal staffing, holiday, inclement weather, and a flexible work schedule are required.
