Positions available in Little Miami, Lebanon and Franklin School Districts. District Assigned RBT Title: Registered Behavior Technician Reports to: Assistant Superintendent of Student Services and Programming FLSA Status: Exempt Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent Extensive knowledge of behavioral interventions required as well as special education. One or more years of successful experiences in working with students including those that exhibit intensive behavioral needs. Demonstrated knowledge of Special Education as well as restraint and seclusion policies and regulations. Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate effectively and work productively with all levels of district staff, students, parents and the general public. Effective verbal and written communication skills and able to handle problem situations in a tactful, courteous and respectful manner. Skills necessary to provide guidance, training, modeling of behavioral practices and interventions. Ability to adapt and respond to multiple priorities and demands, deal with the concerns of staff/students/parents in a timely manner and resolve problem situations in a positive manner. Willingness/ability to work with students, staff, and parents as a team member. Computer expertise appropriate to position. Must possess a valid Ohio driver’s license. Effective communication skills in English Access to own motor vehicle. Ohio educational aide certificate. Ability to physically manage students with disabilities. Ability to lift 40 pounds unassisted. Ability to maneuver stairs unassisted. Pass criminal background check General Duties: Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge regarding behavioral interventions, accommodations and modifications across all areas. Demonstrate knowledge of resources for teacher learning Serve as a consultant and provide support when appropriate in the development of behavioral plans, assessment, interventions and model and assess implementation of the behavioral interventions on a consistent basis. Communicates effectively with teachers and other school personnel (teachers, related service providers, paraprofessionals, administrators). Communicates effectively with BCBA Supervisor. Establishes and maintains mechanism for documenting ongoing communication with teachers and educational team members. Complete regular check in with teachers and students to discuss progress. Assist in implementation of behavioral plan. Model and adapt interventions for staff. Effectively demonstrate and model CPI according to school policy. Maintains confidentiality of students, families, and school personnel. Participate in development and implementation of Functional Behavioral Assessments and Behavioral Intervention Plan. Participate in Individualized Education Plan (IEP), and team meetings as requested by the educational team. Maintains professional competence through in-service education activities provided by the county and/or self-selected professional growth activities. Performs all duties in conformity with the adopted Board policies. Maintains accurate, complete and correct records as required by district policy and administrative regulation. Maintains professional rapport with students, teachers, administrators, school personnel, and parents. Maintain Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification. Demonstrates flexibility in adapting to changes in schedules and plans. Communicates clearly both orally and in writing with all segments of the school community. Models appropriate dress, language and conduct as a professional educator. Effectively completes other job performance criteria as assigned. Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance. Performs all duties in conformity to the adopted Board Policy. Serve the district's representative at local, state and national meetings as appropriate. Plan and organize own work to meet deadlines. Perform other tasks, consistent with the position, as may be assigned Other Duties and Responsibilities: In case of absence, supervisor/director or his/her designee as early as possible. Fill out appropriate forms when necessary: sick, personal, professional leave statements, reimbursement forms, etc. Attend scheduled meetings called by the administration. Serves as a role model for educators and students in how to conduct themselves as citizens and as responsible human beings. Helps instill in students and staff the belief in and practiced of ethical principles and democratic values. Shall perform such other duties as the supervisor/director may assign/determine. The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or nonprescribed controlled substance abuse in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the County/District. Observes Risk Reduction Safety Rules and Regulations of the Warren county ESC and School Districts, State, Federal, OSHA laws and will be evaluated to the extent of compliance and implementation as an employee of such rules and regulations for safety in the workplace while visiting such sites in line of work duties.
