The Green River District Health Department is accepting applications for a full-time Health Educator I or Health Educator II located at our District Office in Owensboro, KY. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: coordinates, facilitates and participates in the delivery of the Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention Programsin the community through partnering and education including but not limited to public speaking, resource sharing and collaboration with community partners serving Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention/CARE Collaborative/CARE SMBP (self-measured blood pressure monitoring) participants who are potentially eligible for the CARE SMBP program, etc. Plan and implement Workplace Wellness – LivingWell Program. Community Health Improvement. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum qualifications for Health Educator I: Bachelor’s degree from a college or university. No experience is required. Compensation: $18.07 - $22.46/hr., salary may be negotiable according to merit system guidelines. Minimum qualifications for Health Educator II: Bachelor’s degree from a college or university and two (2) years of health related or education experience is required. Master’s degree or bachelor’s degree in health or human services fields will substitute for one (1) year of the required experience. A professional license in the health or human services field will substitute for an additional year of experience.
