Overview When Alfred Fain founded a small Rhode Island tire store in 1924, at the time no one could have predicted how Teknor Apex would become an international custom compounder sought out by companies around the world. Essential Functions Is familiar with and practices all safety rules. Ensures that all necessary reclaim equipment is running properly. Empties dust collector at least once per shift, more if needed. Loads blenders with a mix of various types of available scrap. Makes necessary adjustments to blenders (hardness, specific gravity and color) Extrude and pelletize a quality product Records all production data on worksheet. Leaves work center related notes in log book and communicates with other shifts. Before shift change, makes certain that all screen packs, trash, cardboard and pellets are stored or dumped in the proper receptacles. At shift change, leaves the on-coming shift a full blender. At shift change, leaves the work area neat, clean and organized. Skill/Education Requirements: High school diploma or GED This job may require operation of a fork truck. This job involves lifting of 25 to 50 pounds for up to 3 hours per shift. This job involves carrying objects that weigh up to 15 pounds for up to 3 hours per shift. This job requires fine manipulation of the hands. Color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors) required. Teknor Apex has a long-standing history of caring for its employees .
