We are looking for a Hull Prep Associate who will report directly to the Hull Supervisor. As part of your role, you’ll be on a team where we are creating new ways to get people moving forward, where their experiences are measured by emotion rather than distance. You’ll Have The Opportunity To
• Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules and other records and reports to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs.
• Inspect materials, products and equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.
• Observe work and monitor gauges, dials or other indicators to ensure that operators conform to production or processing standards.
• Apply methods, equipment performance, product quality, employee safety and efficiency.
• Align and fit structural assemblies manually to position assemblies for joining.
• Assemble, install, and connect parts, fittings, and assemblies on boats, using layout tools, hand tools, power tools, and fasteners such as bolts, screws, rivets, and clamps.
• Position and align subassemblies in jigs or fixtures, using measuring instruments and following blueprint lines and index points.
• Cut, trim, file, bend, and smooth parts, and verify sizes and fitting tolerances in order to ensure proper fit and clearance of parts.
• Read and interpret blueprints, illustrations, and specifications to determine layouts, sequences of operations, or identities and relationships of parts
• Align, fit, assemble, connect, or install system components, using jigs, fixtures, measuring instruments, hand tools, or power tools.
• Layout and mark reference points and locations for installation of parts or components, using jigs, templates, or measuring and marking instruments.
• Adjust, repair, rework, or replace parts and assemblies to eliminate malfunctions and to ensure proper operation.
• Fit and fasten sheet metal coverings to surface areas or other sections of boats prior to welding or riveting.
• Clean, oil, or coat system components as necessary before assembly or attachment.
YOU’LL THRIVE IN THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:
Required: This position will start on May 6, 2024
• Regular and reliable attendance.
• Ability to stand, kneel, crawl and work for several hours in various positions either on a concrete floor or within a boat.
• Ability to manually move product and materials through regular physical exertion, including but not limited to lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling and bending.
• Must work at a reasonable pace within quality and production standards to completion of tasks while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
• Production standards include overtime to meet customer needs.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
Preferred
• Knowledge and previous use of basic hand and power tools.
• Manufacturing, production, machinist, or assembly experience.
• Demonstrated stability and dependability in previous employment.
