Full job description
The Intake/Emergency Services Clinician will serve a dual role within the Emergency Services/Access Unit. The primary function will be to complete intakes and assessments on individuals referred to the agency for mental health or substance use services. They will ensure the individuals follow through with recommended services through follow-up calls and letters to assist the individual in engaging in services. The employee will participate in treatment team meetings with psychiatrists and other services team members. The secondary function will be to serve the Emergency Services Unit by providing face-to-face and telephone crisis intervention and brief crisis counseling to clients in need of acute mental health attention. This includes hospital preadmission screening to safeguard the rights and well-being of all Alleghany Highlands Community Services clients.
Licensure/Certifications: LPC or LCSW or license eligible (Required); Completion of the DBHDS approved Certification Training Program for Preadmission Screening Evaluators (required but can be obtained within 60 days of hire); Valid Driver's License (required)
