Job Summary
Location: Williams Campus
The role of the Dean of Workforce Innovation involves overseeing and developing programs that align with workforce needs and industry demands. This includes collaborating with CGCC campus locations, businesses, educational institutions, and government agencies to create initiatives that enhance the skills and employability of students or workforce participants. The Dean of Workforce Innovation may focus on fostering partnerships, designing relevant curriculum, implementing training programs, and staying informed about evolving industry trends to ensure graduates are well-prepared for the current job market with the goal of bridging the gap between education and industry requirements, along with contributing to economic development and the success of the learner, college and the community.
Essential Functions
50% - Plan, direct, oversee and evaluate workforce education programs in a variety of formats to provide rapid response to local and regional workforce non-credit, microcredentials, short-term rapid development programs and needs in areas such as Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Aviation and Aerospace, Cybersecurity and Information Technology while working in partnership with deans and division chairs to support short-term workforce needs. Develops, supports, forges, nurtures, and maintains industry and educational partnerships in support of employment, internships and apprenticeships.
40% - Work collaboratively with deans of instruction and other administrators on prospects for workforce development grant opportunities and prepare grant applications at the direction of the vice president of academic affairs. Collaborating with, but limited to, CGCC campus locations, businesses, educational institutions, and government agencies to create initiatives that enhance the skills and employability of students or workforce participants. The Dean of Workforce Innovation may focus on fostering partnerships, designing relevant curriculum, implementing training programs, and staying informed about evolving industry trends to ensure graduates are well-prepared for the current job market. Manages internship/co-op programs in career and technical areas in collaboration with college career services staff. Works with faculty to align curriculum with industry credentials.
10% - Serves on boards and committees, other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications for Student Affairs and other non-academic pathway : Master’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution in education or field related to area of assignment and four (4) years of progressively responsible management and/or leadership experience in field of assignment that includes two (2) years of supervisory experience. Examples of student affairs academic support management/leadership experience includes: program management, project management, budget development and management related to programs or projects, staff supervision, policy development, administration, evaluation and compliance. No degree equivalency.

Minimum Qualifications for Academic pathway : Master's Degree in a teaching field related to area(s) of assignment and four (4) years of experience in an academic leadership and/or supervisory role in higher education and three (3) years of teaching that includes curriculum/coursework development. Examples of academic leadership/supervisory experience includes: division/department chair, project management, policy development, administration, evaluation and compliance, committee leadership, program director, and shared governance. No degree equivalency.
Desired Qualifications
• A relevant advanced degree, such as a master's or doctoral degree in business, technology, workforce development, business administration, or a related educational field
• Experience in workforce development, innovation, or a related field which encompasses the ability to develop and execute strategic plans for workforce innovation, aligning educational programs with the needs of the workforce
• Leadership experience in education administration, program development, or industry partnerships
• Evidence of understanding of current trends and demands in the workforce, including knowledge of emerging industries and skills needed in the job market
• Evidence of ability to build and maintain effective partnerships with businesses, community organizations, government agencies, and other stakeholders
• Evidence of expertise in designing and implementing relevant and innovative curriculum and training programs that meet industry needs
• Evidence of strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, faculty, staff, industry leaders, and community members
Special Working Conditions
• Possession of a valid State of Arizona Class D Driver's License is required; employee must meet district minimum standards regarding driving: https://www.maricopa.edu/ about/careers/application- information#mvd
• Will be required to travel throughout the southeast Valley region and Phoenix area
• May be required to work at multiple sites or locations
