Required Experience:
• PLC programming experience (Either with Allen Bradley, Siemens, Rockwell, or Mitsubishi).
• 3 years of Project Management experience in several equipment and/or controls planning projects as well as structural modification.
• 3 years of experience in an engineering environment (automotive process or automotive).
• Advanced = experience in controls and equipment (PLC Alan Bradley AND/OR Siemens S7; E-Plan)
• Advanced = problem investigation & data analysis experience
• Advanced = long and short-term project management experience (continuous improvement, process analysis, controls planning)
• Advanced = cross functional communication experience
• Advanced = equipment maintenance experience in electrical, controls, software and mechanical areas
• Intermediate = experience using Microsoft Office applications
• Intermediate = experience in CAD Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications. Ability to use and apply statistical methods to aid with process analysis
Required Education:
• Bachelor’s or Master's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering preferred) or the equivalent of 4 years of engineering experience in the automotive industry.
Nice to have:
• CLIENT PLC experience is preferred
• Someone who can troubleshoot an electrical circuit and understand industrial electronics would also be preferred
• Python and C++ experience would also be considered
• German language skills preferred
Programmable Logic Controller Engineer Summary:
• Engineers the controls planning of technical equipment as delegated by the Client MC Section Manager
• Evaluates concept evaluations with technical and financial focus for new facility and process equipment
• Provides Project oriented planning and realization of measures in collaboration with the internal customer as well as external suppliers
• Finds the optimum solutions regarding costs, quality, ergonomics, technical innovation and environment
• Confers with management, engineering and other staff supporting structural capabilities, production schedules and other considerations to facilitate production processes
• Provides cost estimation (Invest, Budget), technical specification and request for quotes
• Evaluates, coordinates and compiles bidder circle, call for bids, offers evaluation, recommendation for the award of contract, acceptance of the equipment from the suppliers and handing over to the operator as delegated by the Client MC Section Manager
• Develops and implements equipment countermeasures to improve equipment reliability. Ensures all equipment design is capable of required uptime
• Ensures all assigned countermeasures are developed on schedule and effective countermeasures
• Works with the planning team to support them with company standard topics that they may have questions about
• Coordinate activities and timing for projects
• Will do day to day support
• Testing and fixing controls PLC’s
• Some PC programming
• Help troubleshooting systems and PLC code
Additional Information:
• They would be trained and go through standard company training for this department.
• They would be put with a mentor for the first few months until they were confident to work independently.
