Position Summary
The Air Force ROTC University Liaison (Administrative Specialist I) is the sole UGA employee in the Air Force ROTC department. The liaison works in the department with AFROTC cadets, active duty airman and reports directly to the department head. Within this position, there are many varied tasks and activities requiring active collaboration with many different departments and organizations. The liaison is looked to as the authority on university policies and procedures and is expected to stay up to date with any changes relevant to the department.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies
Knowledge or familiarity with Air Force customs and courtesies a plus; Networking and communication skills; Knowledge of basic computer systems to include Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook; Financial management skills, in the categories of planning, spending, and tracking of department funds.

Duties/Responsibilities
Have knowledge of or familiarity with university admissions, academic advising and course registration processes in order to assist department staff and students with requests as needed. This includes de-conflicting schedules with other departments to ensure contracted Aerospace Studies students stay on the strict academic path IAW Air Force requirements, scholarship requirements, and federal contracts to graduate and commission on a specific and agreed upon timeline.

Coordinate with various university departments and community partners in the planning of special events. Liaison between UGA Air Force ROTC and other UGA Departments for contact information, press releases, budget management and UGA procurement procedures, course schedules for Aerospace ( AIRS ) courses, and other duties as assigned. Familiarity with Air Force customs and courtesies.

Answer inquiries for information via email and phone and maintain schedule of events for department head which includes, but is not limited to, managing calendar, appointments, and speaking engagements. Ensure reports/forms required from the Aerospace Studies Department are completed in a timely manner, preparing memos and letters, and communicating verbally, in writing and by email with UGA staff.

Maintain and execute department budgets and personnel files to include in-processing and out-processing of military personnel. Familiarity with university purchasing and contract policies.

Communicate these changes to department staff. Serve as the sole administrative and clerical support to the Air Force ROTC department.
