This is a temporary adjunct position responsible for teaching students in the clinical environment as part of the Traditional BSN Program on the Kansas City Campus. Other responsibilities include mentoring students and evaluation of educational activities. This position reports to Associate Dean of Academic and Faculty Affairs for the KU School of Nursing.The University of Kansas School of Nursing accepts applications for Per Course Faculty to establish a broad and diverse pool of available candidates. Salary is paid per course credit hour.Job Description:Required QualificationsEducation/Licensure:Graduate degree in nursing from an accredited school of nursingRegistered Nurse (RN) license issued by the State of Kansas or a multi-state RN license issued by another Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) stateWork Experience:At least 1 year of relevant patient care experienceExcellent communication skills as evidenced by application materials.Preferred QualificationsEducation: Doctorate in nursing from an accredited school of nursingWork Experience:Experience teaching in a baccalaureate nursing program2 years of relevant patient experienceDemonstrated excellence in nursing education or precepting.Skills:Strong organizational, management, and leadership skillsDemonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds, and with individuals at various organizational and educational levels.Job Duties Outlined:Guide students in various clinical care areas, including hospitals, clinics, and other healthcare settings.Collaborate with department faculty to ensure alignment with program objectives.Foster Critical thinking, analytical skills, communication, and problem-solving abilities among students. Collaborate with nursing faculty to prepare for clinical, lab, and simulation instruction.
