Are you a dedicated and experienced educator with a passion for supporting students with behavior concerns in an inclusive and supportive learning environment? Join our team in the Greenwood, SC area for the 2024-2025 school year as a PATHÂ Teacher for Early Childhood. This unique opportunity involves working within a Montessori school setting to provide specialized support to young learners with behavioral needs.
About The Position
As a PATH Teacher for Early Childhood, you will play a crucial role in creating a positive and nurturing classroom environment that promotes social-emotional growth, self-regulation, and academic success for students with behavior concerns. You will collaborate closely with Montessori educators and support staff to integrate behavioral interventions and positive behavior supports into the daily routines and activities of the classroom.
Responsibilities
• Implement evidence-based strategies and interventions to support students with behavior concerns in a PATH class within a Montessori school setting.
• Develop and implement individualized behavior plans and interventions based on student needs, IEP goals, and behavior assessment data.
• Provide direct instruction and support to students in developing social skills, self-regulation strategies, and positive coping mechanisms.
• Collaborate with school staff, parents/guardians, and outside agencies to ensure a coordinated and comprehensive approach to student support and behavior management.
• Monitor student progress and behavior using data collection methods, and adjust interventions and strategies as needed to promote positive outcomes.
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment where all students feel valued and supported.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, School Psychology, Counseling, or related field.
• Valid teaching certification in Special Education or eligibility for certification.
• Previous experience working with young children with behavior concerns, preferably in a PATH or similar program.
• Knowledge of behavior management strategies, positive behavior supports, and trauma-informed practices.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
• Flexibility, patience, and a compassionate approach to working with students with diverse needs.
