This position reports to the BSN Clinical Learning Specialist and the Associate Dean for Academic and Faculty Affairs.The School of Nursing at the University of Kansas Medical Center seeks nursing personnel to join our progressive and innovative team. This is a temporary position. This position will be responsible for assisting students in clinical settings to meet specific nursing goals.Job Description:Required QualificationsEducation/Licensure:Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited school of nursingRegistered Nurse license issued by the State of Kansas or multi-state RN license issued by another Nurse Licensure Compact StatePreferred QualificationsEducation/Certification:Enrollment in a graduate nursing programBoard certification or extensive experience in specialty, e.g., OB, mental health, Critical Care, etc.Work Experience: 2 or more years teaching in an undergraduate and/or graduate nursing program1 year experience teaching in an undergraduate nursing programExperience technology in virtual and in-person academic environmentsSkills:Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds as well as with individuals at various organizational and educational levels.Strong organizational, management, and leadership skills.Excellent communication skillsJob Duties Outlined:Guide students in various clinical care areas, including hospitals, clinics, and other healthcare settings.Collaborate with department faculty to ensure alignment with program objectives.Foster critical thinking, analytical skills, communication, and problem-solving abilities among students.Collaborate with nursing faculty to prepare for clinical, lab, and simulation instruction.Enforce appropriate rules and expectations for students in compliance with KUMC policies.Maintain accurate records as required by administrative guidelines and legal standards.Attend scheduled clinical and lab classes.Fulfill other assigned duties as assigned.Required Documents:Resume/CVCover LetterEmployee Type: Temporary (Fixed Term)Time Type: Part time
