Reporting to the Laboratory Manager, the Hospital Medical Technologist will perform complex and routine lab analysis using set protocols and guidelines to evaluate the credibility accuracy of the test results. The Hospital Medical Technologist will either work in the lab section dedicated to hematology, blood bank or generalist, with an option to work a Monday through Friday 5-8hr schedule or a 4-10hr schedule. The Hospital Medical Technologist will understand how to interpret results and clinical significance of the findings, while ensuring discretion when handling confidential and sensitive information. Additionally, the Evening Hospital Medical Technologist ASCP will be accountable for meeting deadlines, overseeing simultaneous projects, and working in a team-oriented environment.
The Hospital Medical Technologist must be knowledgeable of specimen requirements and be familiar with laboratory terminology and laboratory assay schedules and expected turnaround times. The Hospital Medical Technologist should also hold an Associates or Bachelors Degree in clinical laboratory science, medical technology or a Bachelor's Degree in biology, chemistry, or microbiology from an accredited institution. The Hospital Medical Technologist should currently hold or be willing to obtain their MT (ASCP), MLS(ASCP), or MLT(ASCP).
