As we gear up for the highly anticipated Spring 2024 opening of Athens, Georgia’s first luxury, boutique hotel, Rivet House, which will have 50 luxurious guest rooms, an upscale Italian restaurant and bar, a coffee bar and retail shop, and a 2800 square foot health and beauty spa.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the job include, but are not limited to:
• Wash, clean, dry, and fold numerous hotel linen and laundry items.
• Sort the laundry items according to material and color.
• Arrange clothes in the laundry room as per the specifications
• Wrap the laundry items for pickup or delivery.
• Update the laundry list and record it on a daily basis.
• Assist fellow laundry attendants in loading and unloading laundry washers and dryers.
• Maintain inventory level which includes detergents, sewing machines, detergent cakes, and others. Keep it updated on a regular basis.
• Provide various other laundry services if required.
• Actively participate in cleanliness of the laundry room and appropriate facilities.
• Maintain knowledge of hotel products, services, and facilities.
• Communicate effectively with leaders and team members in regard to day-to-day operations.
• Maintains regular and consistent attendance and punctuality.
• Strive to maintain personal, staff and guest safety. Reporting any incidents in a timely manner.
Requirements
Requirements for Success:
• Have a positive energy, be ready to assist fellow support staff and work as a team player
• Prior cleaning or laundry experience is preferred.
• Good communication and multitasking skills.
• Ability to assist in all housekeeping roles.
• Additional education, training, or certification preferred
• Positive, friendly, and enthusiastic mindset with an excellent record of hotel experience
• Must be able to work days, nights, weekends and holidays
• Ability to constantly stand and walk with occasional stooping, kneeling, ascending, reaching, pushing, pulling, or lifting
