EHS - Environmental Health & Safety Manager Location: Roanoke, VA, 24013 Job Description:
The EHS - Environmental Health & Safety Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. The manager will also be responsible for identifying potential hazards and implementing measures to prevent accidents and injuries. The EHS - Environmental Health & Safety Manager will work closely with other departments to ensure that safety is a top priority throughout the organization.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement safety policies and procedures.
• Identify potential hazards and implement measures to prevent accidents and injuries.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Work closely with other departments to ensure that safety is a top priority throughout the organization.
• Conduct safety audits and inspections.
• Provide safety training to employees.
• Investigate accidents and incidents and develop corrective actions.
• Maintain safety records and reports.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Safety Engineering, Industial Safety or related field
• 5+ years of experience in Environmental Health & Safety, preferably in chemical distribution or manufacturing
• Extensive knowledge of OSHA, DEQ, DOT and EPA regulatory requirements in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team,
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
