If you are an Activities Leader who values planning, organizing, and implementing activities while leading & building a team of staff and volunteers impacting the long-term quality of life of your community, then we want to hear from you.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must meet at least one of the following: be a qualified therapeutic recreation specialist or an activities professional; be eligible for certification as a therapeutic recreation specialist or activities professional by a recognized accrediting body; have one year of full-time experience (within the last five years) in a patient activities program in a health care setting; be a qualified occupational therapist or occupational therapy assistant; or have completed 40 hours of training in group activities and recognizing and assessing the activity needs of residents.
• Two years experience in a social or recreational program
• Have a valid Virginia drivers license
• Be willing to travel overnight occasionally
• Leadership skills
• Ability to make independent decisions
• Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of individuals
• Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral form
