Job title: CVOR Surgical Technologist
Job Summary:
The CVOR Surgical Technologist is responsible for assisting surgeons and nurses in the operating room during cardiovascular procedures. They are instrumental in ensuring that the surgical environment is sterile and that all instruments and equipment are ready for use.
Responsibilities and Duties:
• Set up and prepare surgical instruments and equipment for procedures
• Assist surgeons during surgeries by passing instruments, sponges, and other supplies
• Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and ensure a smooth flow of the operation
• Maintain a sterile field throughout the procedure
• Assist with patient positioning and prepping
• Monitor surgical equipment and supplies, ensuring they are in good working order
• Clean and maintain surgical instruments and equipment
Qualifications and Skills:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an accredited surgical technology program
• Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST)
• Knowledge of cardiovascular procedures and equipment
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work well under pressure
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift heavy objects
