About the Job:
CDS Logistics is seeking a dynamic professional to Supervise our local driver fleet of 10 to 15 driver teams for a leading final mile logistics company. The Driver Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the logistics contract Driver Teams for their respective operations location. This position will report directly to the Local Operations Manager. The primary goal for this position is to ensure excellent operational standards are met while maintaining high customer satisfaction for business executed through the respective Contract Driver teams.
Driver Supervisor:
This role will focus on driving operational performance in the state to meet and exceed customer expectations through hands-on support and strong communication strategies.
Successful applicant will be able to:
• Perform quality work within deadlines.
• Interact and communicate professionally with internal and external customer groups.
• Prioritize daily tasks in consideration of Organizational Strategic Goals.
• Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating efforts with your stakeholders.
Essential Job Functions and Duties:
• Manage and foster relationships with independent contract drivers and/or 3rd party service providers of independent contract drivers to support the outbound schedules daily. This includes, but is not limited to ensure proper auditing activity, executing dock master tasks, issue resolution for driver team throughout daily operations, creative problem solving when faced with a service failure to still meet customer expectations, etc.
• Create an environment where Driver Team activities: drive operational performance improvements, meet customer expectations, meet compliance requirements.
• Work closely with Operations Manager and human resources department to execute against talent attraction.
• Execute timely data collection to maintain operational metrics, set and achieve performance targets, reduce operational costs, and eliminate operational errors.
• Partner with key customer points of contact to facilitate relationship building and to provide optimal support levels around customer needs and expectations.
• Help promote a company culture that encourages top performance and high morale.
• Spearhead safety and compliance and lean management initiatives.
• Provide inspired leadership for the organization.
• Work with the Operations Manager to assist in achieving financial goals for operations.
• Ability to interpret data into a reporting structure to drive operational efficiencies and lower damages.
• Ensure all legal and regulatory documents are maintained for compliance.
• Mange and improve delivery metrics, holding team members and contractors accountable to achieve goals.
• All other duties as assigned.

• Strong communication both up and down.
• Ability to communicate expectations and hold Driver teams accountable equitably.
• Ability to communicate with employees and stakeholders in person and via email professionally and clearly. (Strong written and verbal communication)
• Able to communicate and boost the company message leading with our guiding principles in mind (Cultural leader and personal example)
• Able to Supervise Driver teams through the change cycle and establish consistently executed best practices.
• Strong ability to manage and impact metrics and KPI’s.
• Reliable, consistent leader.
Qualifications:
• Possession of key competencies, including strong communication, organization, prioritization, conflict management, creative problem solving, leadership and decision-making skills.
• Supervisory leadership experience.
• Experiencing Supervising a Driver workforce to support operational needs.
• Ability to build consensus and relationships among leadership and employees.
• Minimum of 1-3 years’ Supervisory experience in logistics industry.
• Ability to travel locally as needed for training and possibly supporting other operations.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in the logistics industry; preferable experience includes 3PL or last mile logistics.
• 1-3 Years experience supervising driver teams and monitoring their performance by set KPIs.
• Lean Management Certification of Yellow Belt or Higher.
• Direct experience with planning personnel levels to business volumes.
• Experience with vendor management.
Supervisory Responsibility
• Responsible for supervising the business relationship with 1099 contract drivers.

The employee must frequently lift, push, pull and/or move up to 50 pounds frequently and lift and/or move up to 100 pounds occasionally. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Little to no travel is expected for this position.
Work Environment
This job operates in a warehouse environment. This role occasionally uses power industrial equipment such as forklifts, double electric pallet jacks, clamp trucks, and double reach trucks.
