This position is specific to our independent living (IL) residents.

The primary responsibilities of the IL Life Enrichment Coordinator are to plan, organize, coordinate, promote and facilitate on and off campus special events for independent residents; schedule and maintain communication with speakers, vendors and participants, coordinate and monitor event timelines, prepare publications and materials, maintain budgets for events, engage residents for input on current and future events and act as prime source for promotion of activities and special events/trips. Events should provide recreation, diversity and intellectual/educational development for all independent residents.
• Education and experience equivalent to associate’s degree.
• Experience with mid to large scale event planning preferred.
• Must have ability to assess the needs of the independent population and plan accordingly.
• Ability to operate a 14 passenger van; CDL a plus.
• Ability to work with confidential information and maintain its’ integrity.
• Ability to work with people of all ages with experience in Alzheimer/Dementia setting and/or with older adult population.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; strong phone etiquette and ability to read and comprehend all types of written materials.
• CPR and First Aid certified or willing to obtain.
• Ability to multi-task while maintaining attention to detail and having good organizational skills.
• Operates personal computer, printer, copy machines and other general office equipment. Familiar with Microsoft Office
• Strong customer service skills; maintain a hospitality approach when engaging all individuals.
Requirements
• Develop and implement trips and special events for the independent population that meets physical, spiritual and intellectual needs. Ensure programs are consistent with philosophy of King’s Grant.
• Research and develop new programs for residents. Perform on monthly basis continually enhancing trips and special events. Research programs to ensure they are worthwhile and fitting for our resident population. Strive to find new and interesting trips and special events every year.
• Maximize and evaluate participation of residents in planned programs offering suggestions on how residents will benefit from programs. Continually work with residents and department to measure the benefit of the program.  Plan trips and special events that prove to be well attended and enjoyed by residents.
• Coordinate pre-planning through post event logistics for all events/trips. Communicate all necessary information to residents. Handle reservations, monies, deposits, set-ups, etc. Work hand-in-hand with travel agents, drivers, etc. to ensure events/trips are a success. Assist as necessary.
• Keep the Executive Director apprised of concerns within the program and/or resident issues. Participate in resident-led groups to gain insight on resident interests. Listen to concerns of residents in regards to events and trips. Communicate issues with appropriate staff to resolve or address resident concerns timely.
• Ensure timely communication of upcoming events are published for residents. Submit event information for publication in the resident newsletter. Provides updates to Corporate office for Facebook page.
• Supports the Marketing team by developing/offering events that may include both residents and prospects and by making calls related to events/programs to prospective residents and updating information in the CRM.
