Hey sports enthusiasts! Here's a fantastic chance for you to join the action at the Botetourt County Sports Complex this season!
We're on the lookout for someone who's got:
• A knack for building awesome relationships with the public
• Maybe some tournament know-how (but hey, not a deal-breaker!)
• Top-notch customer service skills
Overall Job Responsibilities:
Performs routine tasks related to tournament operations. Work is performed under the immediate supervision of the Sports Complex Supervisor or Designated Crew Leader.
What You Can Expect:
Work requires: climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, standing, walking, pushing, and pulling; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas using the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; visual acuity is required for use of measuring devices, operation of equipment, determining the accuracy or thoroughness of work and observing general surroundings and activities; the work is subject to outside environmental conditions, extreme cold, extreme heat, hazards and atmospheric conditions. Employees will be subject to varying hours of work, including nights and weekends. Employees must demonstrate the ability to interact with the general public and participants professionally.
Sample Tasks (for Illustration Purposes Only)
• Technical skills such as operating touch screen point of sales computer, scoreboard, microphone, kitchen appliances, and motorized equipment.
• Willingness to pick up trash, sweep concrete, and clean restrooms.
• Assist with field crew duties such as spreading calcined clay drying agent, raking soil, laying out and marking fields, and pulling and rolling up tarps.
• Converse with patrons in professional and courteous manner.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Punctual attendance, training, and coachability in specific roles hired to accomplish.
• Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the general public.
Education and Experience
• Preferred High School graduate with a computer, scoreboard operation, scorekeeping, and public interaction experience.
