The Position
Lumos’ 2024 Internship Program is offering an exciting Outside Plant (OSP) Delivery Coordinator opportunity to support our OSP Strategy and Implementation Teams and help build the fiber network of the future.
Duties & Responsibilities
• Support team interfacing with all local, state, and federal permitting agencies; as well as any pole owners or railroad companies.
• Develop and maintain effective professional relationships with internal and external agencies.
• Deliver permit applications on behalf of OSP Engineering.
• Track and monitor permit application approvals.
• Ensure engineering, application, and make ready invoices are approved and paid on time.
• Monitor permit expiration timelines.
• Maintain annual blanket DOT permits and provide updated bond information.
• Track incoming and outbound pole attachment requests.
• Maintain inventory of all pole attachments for annual invoice validation
• Monitor Franchise Agreements to ensure adherence and prevent lapses in agreement.
• Record executed Easement with local municipalities and deliver payment.
• Daily tracking of NJUNS Utility Ticketing system and assigning of work to the regional Engineer
• Provide status updates to OSP Engineers and Program Manager
• Create Job Template and Move Orders for OSP
• Update and close Move Orders.
• Monitor materials needed for OSP jobs; to include reviewing Move Orders and Purchase Orders, requesting expedites, & identifying project-impacting delays.
• Assist Program Manager with obtaining status updates on open OSP projects.
Qualifications
• Education:
• Open to students who have completed their freshman year and are actively pursuing a degree at an accredited institution.
• Duration of the program will be for 10 weeks following the end of the spring semester.
• Core Hours: Monday – Friday 8am-5pm with flexibility available.
• Valid Driver’s License: infrequent travel to worksite or corporate offices may be necessary.
• Key Competencies:
• Adherence to regular and predictable attendance and punctuality.
• Professional demeanor and behavior suitable to a workplace environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to quickly build familiarity with other platforms.
• Attention to detail.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to keep track of multiple projects at once.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
