Job Description
Overall Purpose
The Site Coordinator serves as the instructional leader for the Early Learning Center and is responsible for the day to day organization and operation of the site, the supervision of staff and all related activities.

Essential Functions
• Demonstrates a willingness to learn operating standards for federal and state grant programs (e.g.Early Head Start, Head Start, and Pre-K) and to supervise the implementation of such in the learning environment to support student achievement.
• Demonstrates a commitment and willingness to work with students, parents and community.
• Utilizes assessment results to ensure compliance with grant guidelines.
• Demonstrates a willingness to work toward the goal of helping all students achieve.
• Utilizes assessment results to improve the student achievement and the total school program based on EHS, HS, and Pre-K grant performance standards.
• Demonstrates a willingness to participate in shared decision-making.
• Demonstrates a willingness to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, community and others to
• support high levels of student achievement.
• Demonstrates a willingness to engage in continuous professional development
• Provides educational leadership for the school staff and community; supervises staff; collaborates with Office of Early Learning administrative staff; supports instructional programs; coordinates community efforts.
• Utilizes the resources of the Office of Early Learning to provide a safe and healthy learning
• environment with the best instructional program possible in the school.
• Provides appropriate staff and student assignments for maximum growth and efficiency.
• Executes effectively the management and leadership responsibilities associated with the total school program.
• Utilizes sound management principles in the expenditure of grant funds and in preparing for other budgetary needs.
• Establishes and solicits support from local community groups, businesses, and others to aid in overall achievement of school objectives and programs.
• Interprets Board policies, grant guidelines, and administrative directives; discusses and resolves individual student problems and addresses parental concerns.
• Provides orientation for newly assigned staff and assists with appropriate professional development.
• Evaluates staff so as to reinforce strengths and remediate weaknesses.
• Coordinates and/or supervises support services (e.g., maintenance, food service, etc.)
• Prepares and/or supervises the preparation of reports, records and all required paperwork appropriate to the Office of Early Learning.
Marginal Functions
• Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.

Required to perform multiple tasks with a need to occasionally upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions. Specific skill based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the
job include: oral and written communication skills; using pertinent software applications; problem solving and mediating skills; and organizational skills.
• Knowledge-based Competencies
Specific knowledge based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: awareness of Early Head Start, Head Start, and Pre-K grant programs, stages of birth to five
child development; methods of research based instructional practices and lesson plan requirements for birth-5 years of age; methods of motivating and responding to the needs of staff, parents, and children; and awareness of codes, regulations, and laws related to preschool special education
• Ability-based Competencies
Specific ability based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include:providing direction and leadership to school staff; communicating with persons of varied backgrounds; maintaining confidentiality; establishing and maintaining constructive relationships; and adapting to changing priorities during the day-to-day operations of a school. Additional ability based competencies include: to schedule activities, meetings, and/or school-wide events; to work with a wide diversity of
individuals; to work with and analyze various types of data; and to problem solve with data. Flexibility is required to work with others in a variety of circumstances; problem solving to identify issues and create action plans and/or resolutions in order to resolve conflict.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
Hold or be eligible for leadership certification at L-5 or higher
220-Day Staff
Physical Requirements
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 25% sitting, 40% walking, and 35% standing.
