2nd Shift - 2:00PM-10:30PM
Location: Le Sueur, MN
Position Summary :
The Toolmaker is responsible to repair, revise, and refurbish/build LSI and Customer owned molds, tooling, and fixtures by performing machining and mechanical processes, methods, and techniques. Provides support for the Production Departments and Engineering; assisting with process and product improvements. Completes other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
• Experienced Toolmaker with 4 years on the job experience.
• Applies tool-making skills to machine and assemble mold repair, mold build, and fixture/component projects.
• Applies basic skills and develops advanced skills in procedures, techniques, tools, materials, and appropriate equipment.
• Tasks are routine to moderately complex.
• Requires a working knowledge of MASTERCAM and PTC Creo or SolidWorks software.
• Resolves routine questions and problems and refers more complex issues to higher levels.
• Works under immediate to moderate supervision to complete assigned duties.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
• Ability to repair tools in the casting machines and/or injection molding machines to enable quick turn-around with repairs and processing as needed.
• Ability and experience with tool repair work and ability to document issues for tool history and continual improvement.
• Ability and experience with (or specialization on) Tool Room equipment at a medium level of competency (i.e.- CNC Mills, CNC EDMs, WEDMs).
• Working knowledge of MASTERCAM and PTC Creo and/or SolidWorks software to create, modify, and develop machine tool cutter paths from simple to moderately complex solid models.
• Troubleshoots and diagnoses problems related to die cast machine and/or injection mold cycling, tool function in the machine.
• Completes miscellaneous tasks as assigned in support of the larger organization and production goals.
Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Education, Experience, Physical Requirements):
• High school diploma or GED and a 2-year degree in Machine Tool Technology and/or similar work experience.
• Ability to read and understand work instructions and perform math computations and computer data entry.
• Ability to lift 40 lbs., climb a ladder up to 10 ft. and walk and stand during entire shift.
• Ability to perform repetitive pushing and sliding of mold plates and mold inserts.
• Periodically, this position requires repetitive hand, wrist, and grasping of objects with fingers for extended periods of time.
• Ability to visually detect quality defects.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment for extended periods of time.
• Working knowledge of Lean and 6 Sigma concepts and tools
$27.1-$36.66 per HOUR Employment Type: Full-Time
