Position Title: Liquor Store Manager
Reports To: Store Manager
Job Objective:
Job Summary: The Liquor Store manager is responsible for Liquor Store appearance and Liquor Store operation that reflect company standards and image. The Liquor Store manager will direct the operation of the store in accordance with company policy and procedures, to maximize store profits, to have a significant impact on store operating expenses and sales-volume. Performs all aspects of store operations including: bookkeeping, running a cash register, loading and unloading trucks, transporting merchandise, stocking shelves, receiving, pricing products, ordering products, and performing inventory audits. The Liquor Store manager is also responsible to provide the foundation and guidance for employees to achieve maximum success and personal motivation. Manages the department to ensure an unprecedented shopping experience for customers, to promote sales, and to achieve sales budgets, profit margins, and labor goals by focusing on quality, freshness, and customer service.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee daily operations of the store, including sales, customer service, and inventory management.
Monitors sales and inventory to determine ordering and pricing for products.
Follows all policies, procedures and laws related to selling liquor (i.e., selling liquor to individuals that are 21 years of age and older)
Responsible for maintaining overall liquor store appearance.
Develop and implement strategies to achieve sales targets and increase profitability.
Perform daily tasks that include running the register, stocking shelves, cleaning, etc.
Participate in the hiring process, including recruitment, onboarding, and training of new employees.
Monitor employee performance and provide feedback and coaching as needed.
Delegates tasks appropriately and promotes teamwork between store employees.
Ensures that correct pricing is maintained, and merchandise is rotated, clean, and in date code.
Is aware of and assists with all promotions according to the marketing plan.
Maintain and develop Staples Enterprises, Incs corporate image and reputation via ethical activities, confidentiality, and great customer service.
Continuous improvement through self-development and educational training; attend all training sessions required by law and the Company.
Qualifications of the Position:
Previous experience in retail sales or management is required.
Strong passion for and knowledge of wines, spirits and craft beers desired
Strong knowledge of merchandising techniques and inventory management
Experience with cash register operations and cash handling.
Basic math skills for inventory management and cash handling
Ability to effectively train, motivate, and supervise a team of employees.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational and administrative skills.
Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to resolve issues effectively.
