Title: Compliance Officer State Role Title: Health Care Compliance Specialist II Hiring Range: Commensurate with Experience Pay Band: 5 Agency: Dept Behavioral Health/Develop Location: Catawba Hospital Agency Website: https://dbhds.virginia.gov/facilities/catawba/ Recruitment Type: General Public - G Job Duties To assist and oversee in the planning, development, implementation, monitoring, education, and training of and for a facility-wide Medicare Voluntary Compliance Program and related Risk Management and Quality Improvement programs, including HIPAA regulations. Supervises the Utilization Review Coordinator to ensure compliance with applicable CMS Conditions of Participation. Collaborates with other departments (for example, human resources, public safety, and health information management) to direct compliance issues through appropriate channels for investigation and resolution. Responds to alleged violations of rules, regulations, policies, procedures and standards of conduct by evaluating or recommending the initiation of investigative procedures. Minimum Qualifications Previous experience in a healthcare setting Experience in the Compliance profession to include investigations and health information management Experience assisting with regulatory surveys required (i.e. Joint Commission, CMS, VDH, OSIG). Additional Considerations Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education and work experience in Business Administration, Healthcare, or Legal field preferred.
