VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR Local Office on Aging, Inc. (LOA) seeks a dependable, organized person to coordinate the volunteer program. Position is part-time 20-29 hours per week (Monday-Friday), between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The job is located at the LOA Central Office. Tasks include recruiting, screening, training and supporting volunteers to assist in the service provision of seniors. Coordinates schedules, maintains accurate records and enters information into a database. Benefits include paid time off and 14 paid holidays. Experience in volunteer management or coordination is preferred. Pay range is between $17.00 to $24.00 per hour depending on experience. A Bachelor’s Degree in a human services field is required with 5 years of related experience. (undergraduate college training related to the position, may be substituted at the rate of 1 yr. of college for 9 months of related experience.) This is a non-exempt position. EOE/AA/H LOA POSITION DESCRIPTION VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR-PART TIME LEVEL 7 General Definition Under the regular supervision of the VP & CFO with some latitude for exercising independent judgement, coordinates the LOA Volunteer Program. This position is responsible for recruiting, training and supporting volunteers to assist in delivering LOA services and programs to seniors in need. This is a non-exempt position. Typical Tasks Recruits, screens and onboards volunteers; Develops and maintains relationships with volunteers, providing ongoing support, guidance and recognition for their contributions; Coordinates volunteer schedules and assignments, ensuring coverage for programs, events and services; Conducts orientations and training sessions to familizrize vlunteers with LOA’s mission, policies and procedures; Collaborates with staff to identify volunteer needs and opportunities for engagement; Maintains accurate volunteer records, including hours worked and enters information into the database; Evaluates volunteer programs and implements improvements to enhance volunteer engagement and satisfaction; Serves as a liaison between volunteers and staff, facilitating communication and addressing any concerns or issues that may arise; Performs other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities : Position requires excellent communication skills as well as excellent organizational and planning skills. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with volunteers, other professional staff, community agencies and the general public. Ability to prepare reports, maintain accurate records, and communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to work independently. Must have flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and schedules. Ability to accurately enter volunteer data into the volunteer database. Education and Experience: A Bachelors Degree in a related field with a minimum of 5 years experience is required; Undergraduate college training related to the position, may be substituted at the rate of one year of college for nine months of related experience. Special Requirements: Possession of a valid Virginia driver's license and automobile for required travel in the Fifth Planning District. Adopted: 4/2024
