We are looking for Passenger Drivers in the Covington area to transport riders in a comfortable, safe and timely manner. Responsibilities include transporting riders (both ambulatory and wheelchair) to medical appointments, pharmacies, grocery stores, employment, and other locations. To be considered for this role, you should have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record with no traffic violations. Note that you don’t need to have a car; we provide drivers with our own vehicles. You must have open availability Monday through Friday, full time, with hours ranging from 5am-6pm . Weekends as needed for any special events. On Wednesday evenings must be available from around 3pm-9/10pm to transport riders for our Rockbridge CAN Dinner. Responsibilities Provide timely transportation of riders to/from locations. Submit digital data and other documentation in a timely manner each day. Inspect the vehicle before the first shift and after the last shift and report any concerns about the vehicle(s) to the Fleet Manager. Wash and clean the vehicle after each use so it is ready to be used the next day. Assist with maintaining office premises. Skills Proven experience as a Driver A valid driver’s license A clean driving record Minimum visual acuity of 20/50 (or corrected to 20/50) Familiarity with GPS devices Knowledge of area roads and neighborhoods Ability to maneuver wheelchairs and assist riders from door-to-door A polite and professional disposition Ability to remain calm in stressful driving situations (e.g. at rush hour) A high school diploma or equivalent Willingness to work after general business hours (which includes a shift differential) Must pass a background check and drug screening prior to employment Must be 21 years of age or older (insurance requirement) Rockbridge Area Transportation System is an Equal Opportunity Employer Job Type: Full-time Pay: $15.00 per hour Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week Benefits: Flexible schedule Health insurance Paid time off Paid training Schedule: Monday to Friday Weekends as needed Application Question(s): Do you have a clean driving record?
