POSITION TITLE: Corporate Project Manager REPORTS TO: Chief Information Officer REPORTS TO THIS POSITION: Project Manager(s) SUMMARY: Works with proponents and sponsors to develop a business case that highlights the costs and benefits of the proposed project for presentation to Executive management for review and approval. Recommends, assembles and directs a team of subject matter experts, technical specialists, and operational staff to produce a project plan focused on the completion of the desired objectives. Prepares, implements, monitors, and updates the project plan. Assures that company resources are appropriately focused and dedicated to complete the project in accordance with the project plan. Coordinates with the project sponsor and upper level management to ensure the actions are consistent with the approved plan. Oversees the any necessary design, construction, testing, and implementation necessary to completion of the project plan objectives. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Play a key leadership role in decision support for ongoing operational, strategic and tactical planning and management. Provide essential leadership in the prioritization of operational initiatives and projects. Accurately assess and determine bank and company business requirements and develop, communicate their business needs to Executive Management for evaluation and prioritization. Develop and manage multi-organizational implementation projects, ensuring project is executed according to plan and within budget. Partner with banking departments, business lines, information technology, and risk management to ensure successful completion of project initiatives. Act as a resource to the organization-at-large in facilitating teamwork and problem resolution through project management activities. Work with executives to develop shared responsibility for company wide operational projects. Develop and maintain familiarity with newer bank operational processes and technology. Prepare project business cases to be approved by the Operations and IT Steering committee. Identify changing trends in operational processes and interpret their meaning and impact to Executive Management. Participate in the bank’s overall business planning process. Bring to the planning process a current knowledge of the uses of operational processes and quality control techniques. Assure a high standard of quality is engineered into bank operational processes. Address the needs of users in the banks and company operations by successfully executing identified and approved projects. Educate project team on user information and requirements and coach team as required to ensure a successful, professional implementation. Coordinate final QA of product, program or process prior to implementation. Follow-up on status of projects, keeping users informed of progress and where necessary, re-negotiate deliverables. Arrange for training and documentation resources as necessary. Ensure successful transition of project to support to the user. Celebrate successes with project team. JOB REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in business administration, industrial engineering, process management or equivalent combination of education and experience in banking operations. Certified Project Manager or similar designation preferred, but not required General understanding of banking IT environment including software and hardware. Strong project management methodology skills. Detailed understanding of banking operational issues Consulting skills/ability to translate customer requirements into business/functional project specifications KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS REQUIRED: Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures. Ability to analyze complex problems, to interpret operational needs, and develop integrated, creative solutions. Advanced verbal and written communication skills. Ability to analyze comprehensive business processes, to perform in-depth work analyses, and develop computer-generated flow charts. Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities. Ability to develop project budgets and projections. Group facilitation, mediation, and conflict resolution skills Ability to perform effectively in fast-paced environment Knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel and Power Point Familiarity with MS Project or other project management tool a plus. Well-founded understanding of general office automation software; workstation and network operating systems, PC communications; core systems; telecommunication systems local and wide area networks. Complete all required compliance training by established deadlines Ability to maintain confidentiality PHYSICAL AND MENTAL QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from Board of Directors, management and executive groups, groups of other managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Excellent mathematical and related analytical skills are required. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
