Schedules staff to ensure appropriate coverage for patient census. Organizes, orders and manages RT department supplies. Provides education, precepting and training for RT staff; coordinates proficiency testing and reporting to appropriate agency in timely manner. Supervises, reviews and documents quality assurance activities and corrective actions (as needed) to continuously improve RT function. Chart auditing. Quality data collection and documentation. Key performance indicators. Where needed, provides COLA and CLIA related tasks. Provides patient care for Respiratory therapy needs, consulting with medical staff and executing medical orders accurately and timely, following standards and protocols. Setups and operates RT therapy devices to ensure parameters of treatment. Administers medicinal gases and medications within acceptable error rate. Evaluates outcomes and interventions and implements necessary changes to improve care. Observes equipment functions and makes adjustments to obtain optimum results in therapy. Communicates patient care information to appropriate patient care team in an accurate and timely manner.
