Who We Are : Buncombe Street Methodist Church is developing followers of Jesus who are “ engaged in community, equipped to serve, and empowered to lead .” We are a thriving downtown church in Greenville, SC that has been part of the Greenville Community for almost 200 years. While every member of our staff will not necessarily serve as a minister in the formal sense, every Christian is a minister for Christ and is encouraged to possess a heart for ministering to others in the areas of his or her talents. The Local Community Outreach & Missions Coordinator will play a pivotal role in connecting Buncombe Street Methodist Church with our local community. This position will primarily develop and implement meaningful outreach opportunities in Greenville but will also assist in the administrative and coordination efforts of BSMC’s Missions and Outreach program. This position will work onsite/in-person, but will have flexibility to work remotely. What We Need From You : The ideal candidate will … · Bring 2-3 years of leadership experience in a church or non-profit setting. Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred. · Have a familiarity with the Greenville community and working knowledge of non-profit organizations dedicated to supporting marginalized communities. Personal experience in mission engagement (local, domestic, and international) is strongly preferred. · Possess a high proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 suite. Willingness to learn and effectively utilize church software tools. Experience with Canva and Constant Contact highly preferred · Have strong organizational, administrative, and financial management skills. Ability to effectively prioritize and to discreetly handle confidential information. · Be willing to attend evening and weekend meetings and events as necessary. Are You Ready To Join Our Team?
