Title: Lawn Care Worker (Temporary/Part-time) Salary Range: $15 per hour Contract Term Length: Not Applicable Standard Hours: 22.5 hours per week (3 days at 7.5 hours per day) Work Location: On-Site FLSA Status: Non-Exempt College: Owensboro Community & Technical College Campus Location: Owensboro Community College Department: Maintenance and Operations Job Summary The Lawn Care Worker (Temporary/Part-time) will perform lawn care duties on the campus grounds during the Spring and Summer months of 2024. This position will be responsible for maintaining and caring for lawns, flower beds, and landscapes. This is a hands-on position that requires knowledge of tree care, landscape maintenance, and the use of various hand tools. Job Duties: Lawn mowing, trimming, edging, and blowing to maintain the appearance of lawns. Prune trees and shrubs to promote healthy growth and maintain desired shape. Apply fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides to control weeds and pests. Plant flowers, shrubs, and trees to enhance the overall landscape. Pick up trash and debris from common areas and streets daily. Operate and maintain various hand tools and equipment necessary for lawn maintenance. Maintain cleanliness of work area and equipment. Ability to perform physical labor for extended periods in a variety of weather conditions. Other duties assigned. Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma/GED (or equivalent) required. Preferred Qualifications: Lawn Experience: 1 year preferred Landscape Maintenance: 1 year preferred Mechanical knowledge for equipment maintenance preferred Additional Skills Requested: Flexible three (3) days a week, 7.5 hours per day (Monday - Friday)
