Title: Deputy Clerk - Roanoke County J&DR Court State Role Title: Deputy Clerk Hiring Range: Negotiable to $39,247 Pay Band: UG Agency: Supreme Court Location: VA Agency Website: www.vacourts.gov Recruitment Type: General Public - G Job Duties Job Summary: The Deputy Clerk (Grade 8) is assigned operational responsibilities in a high volume fast paced office with frequent deadlines. Ensures court's instructions are executed and legal documents are prepared with accuracy and in accordance with appropriate state and local policies and procedures. Essential duties and Responsibilities: Prepares detailed court documents in accordance with established guidelines, automated case management system data entry, scheduling matters of court, preparing correspondence, scanning and filing court documents. Additional responsibilities include answering phones, assisting customers at the counter, assessing fines and costs and receipting payments. Must be able to multitask and assume additional responsibilities as assigned by management. Minimum Qualifications Minimum Qualifications/Experience: High school diploma or equivalent is required. Most applicants must have excellent organizational skills in this detailed-oriented position; should have some knowledge of court and justice system. Applicant must have excellent customer service skills. Must have the ability to deliver a high degree of tact and diplomacy for customer interaction in person and over the phone; must be detailed oriented, highly accurate and excellent in multitasking in a fast-paced office. Additional Considerations Must have experience with computers and data entry.
