Advantage Behavioral Health Systems provides person-centered treatment and recovery support to individuals and families experiencing behavioral health challenges, intellectual/developmental disabilities, and addictive diseases. Position Summary: Supports client flow and engagement within and on premises of the Homeless Day Service Center to help support daily operations and HDSC services are provided equitably and efficiently to center patrons. This position will primarily focus on engaging center patrons who utilize HDSC showers, laundry facilities, mailroom, and storage area. Additionally, this position will proactively engage individuals on property for the purpose of determining service need and promoting access to supports providing within the facility. Key Duties and Responsibilities: Provide proactive engagement and service referral to individuals accessing general center services. Provide follow up services to non-engaged center patrons for the purpose of promoting access to housing and service supports. Assist with the coordination and delivery of Center services including: Access to Showers and Laundry Facilities Mailroom Client storage bins Donations Volunteer Activities Assist with the administration of HDSCs health & safety plan. Support Center Manager with the following tasks: Administer regularly scheduled emergency Monitor safety equipment Maintain documentation required for health & safety standards at facility Coordinate safety drills with partner agencies in the building Manage entry/exit and client flow to and from onsite center services Provide some limited case management services to promote linkage to housing support In some cases, this position may be needed to provide de-escalation, advocacy, and other service referral duties for center patrons as needed Other related duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must hold a GED or High School diploma and be at least 18 years of age. Applicants must have at least one year of familiar experience (either lived or working) with individuals experiencing homelessness Applicants must demonstrate a level of passion and preference in working with those experiencing homelessness, and also be familiar with the concept of boundaries and professional service ethics. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelors degree in a related field. Certification as a peer with lived experience with SA or MI and/or homelessness A commitment and dedication to working with adults with severe and persistent mental illness and a willingness to interact in a supportive manner to individuals seeking services within the Homeless Day Service Center Knowledge: Understanding of mental illness and recovery techniques General understanding of homelessness and general contributing factors associated with homelessness Crisis de-escalation Skills: Interpersonal skills including communication, listening, and patience Computer skillsmust use an electronic health record and to document accurately same day as service Time management and organizational skills giving the ability to manage client service and appointment schedules Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
