Do you feel motivated to teach kids about the world around them? The Roanoke Valley SPCA is looking for a dedicated individual to join our team as a Summer Camp Counselor for the 2024 season. The Summer Camp Counselor furthers the mission of the Roanoke Valley SPCA by assisting with our humane education summer camps for children in the 4th through 10th grades. They are responsible for executing day-to-day activities, daily care of the campers, and assisting with lessons and field trips for campers. They are responsible for the general safety and development, growth, and skill achievement of the participants. Camp staff will have training the last week of May 2024. Camp sessions are Monday-Friday from 9am-3pm or 9am-4pm starting on Monday, June 3rd, 2024 and ending on Friday, August 2nd, 2024. There is a short week for the 4th of July (with Thursday 4th and Friday 5th off). We can accommodate 5 days off during the camp season for our Counselors if planned in advance! These do not have to be 5 days in a row, but can be. This position is temporary full-time and does not receive benefits. Must be able to drive a 15 person passenger van.
