Join the dynamic HR team at Roanoke College and play a pivotal role in supporting our vibrant community of students, faculty, and staff! As a member of our team, you'll be instrumental in assisting student employees by managing their employment records and addressing their diverse employment needs. We're seeking a friendly and proactive individual who can cultivate a welcoming atmosphere, especially for students who are embarking on their first professional experience.
In addition to student support, this role extends to assisting retirees with post-retirement benefits, overseeing our applicant tracking system, assisting the benefit coordinator, onboarding temporary staff and volunteers, and coordinating various departmental activities and events. As the frontline representative of our HR department, the position requires the ability to thrive amidst interruptions while maintaining professionalism and efficiency.
Ideal candidates will bring a blend of HR experience, exceptional communication skills, and a passion for delivering outstanding customer service. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) is a must, with preference given to those familiar with Colleague HRIS. We offer competitive hourly wages ranging from $18 to $20 per hour (DOQ), along with comprehensive college benefits including generous paid time off, parental leave, and tuition remission for you and your dependents!
