Job Description
How You'll Help Transform Healthcare:
Supervises, coordinates, monitors, and maintains effective, efficient daily operations of Patient Access. Guides and drives the development and activities of staff. Serves as subject matter expert. Interfaces directly with customers; develops and provides staff training; and resolves customer concerns within a team to meet or exceed customer service requirements. Responsible for all aspects of service. Promotes team building and programs for attaining quality service, satisfaction, and financial goals.
• Supervises, coordinates, plans, schedules, and implements activities, workflow, and policies/procedures for assigned area(s); and assures timely accomplishment of assigned workload. Plans, coordinates, and schedules the activities and completion of work in the assigned area(s) ensuring adherence to federal, state and local requirements.
• Provides leadership, direction, and support to staff. Oversees staffing selection, orientation, and training. Coordinates workflow and staffing coverage, as well as timekeeping functions, to maintain efficient and effective processes. Coaches and develops staff to maximize their potential. Evaluates staff performance and conducts disciplinary action as appropriate. Responsible for creating a positive work environment. Provides continuous, realistic, and objective feedback to staff; assists staff in reaching their full potential; and takes action to assure opportunities for all staff.
• Responsible for cost effective materials management, staff utilization and cost containment within assigned area of accountability. Collaborates with leadership to develop operational budgets providing support as required, resolves issues and improves processes and services. Responsible for maintaining production levels and quality goals and completing associated statistical reporting.
• Assists with the development and coordination of strategically aligned organization-wide plans; projects; and standardized processes. Facilitates effective, open, two-way communication and resolution of workplace issues considering alternatives and selects most appropriate solution.
What We Require:
Education: Business degree in business administration or related field or 4 years of experience in lieu of degree
Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in medical/hospital billing, collections, eligibility/social service system or directly related field. Leadership experience preferred.
Licensure, certification, and/or registration: Participation in related professional organizations desired.
Other Minimum Qualifications: Demonstrated verbal and written communications skills, and proficient computer system knowledge. Well organized and detail oriented. Actively participates in appropriate professional organizations. Proficient in team building, conflict resolution, group interaction, project, and budget management. Excellent skills in change management, and group process. Understanding of operations and competitors, and economic, social and legal environment
