Preferred Qualifications Position Summary
The MFA Film Operations Manager is responsible for the management of a variety of areas including production management, logistical, and all incoming inquiries.
The Operations Manager serves as the principal point of administrative contact and liaison with internal and external constituencies and provides specialist support services in the areas of public and community relations.
As the initial point of contact for a wide variety of constituents, including students, faculty, college visitors, members of the university administration and others, the Operations Manager will be punctual, discreet, diplomatic, confidential and provide high touch customer service to all stakeholders.

PRODUCTION MANAGEMENT
• Coordinate production and post-production deadlines for all films, including:
• First year films greenlight meetings
• Thesis script submission
• Thesis greenlight meetings
• Thesis post-production deadlines
• Thesis committee screenings/feedback
• Oversee Athena Studios - coordinate outside tours, manage classroom spaces with Program Director, coordinate assistance to faculty teaching in the space
• Oversee greenlight meetings - these meetings review the actors, locations, schedules, budgets and safety concerns of all films. Production Coordinators will run these meetings, and the Operations Manager would oversee them, and address any concerns.
• Oversee insurance - all student films request insurance certificates from Production Coordinators. The Operations Manager would oversee these requests, and address any concerns, or special language the certificates must contain.
• Oversee equipment - Production Coordinators process equipment checkout for all student films. Operations Manager would oversee checkouts, and address any issues relating to loss or damage.
• Track spending - keep a detailed log of all spending in the program against program budget.

Duties/Responsibilities
ACADEMIC FUNCTION MANAGEMENT
• Admissions management - collate and distribute all applications to faculty, schedule faculty meetings to select finalists and to determine admission offers, schedule all Zoom interviews of candidates, inform non-selected candidates of their denial, inform candidates of admission offers, onboard new students into UGA system. (in spring)
• Faculty meeting management - generate and distribute agendas for bi-weekly faculty meetings in fall and spring semesters. Write minutes of meetings and distribute to faculty.
• Recruitment management - respond to prospective students with questions about the program, create advertising for online and print media.
• Event management - work with Program Director for events beyond classes.
• Communications - generate newsletters for both years of students and alumni, oversee social media channels and department Web site.
