The Division of Development and Alumni Relations at the University of Georgia advances the goals, objectives, and priorities of the university by generating private financial support, building, and maintaining relationships with alumni and donors, and assisting students with career development opportunities.
Career Center
The University of Georgia Career Center is the provider of centralized career services to undergraduate, graduate students, and alumni at The University of Georgia. Career Center staff work collaboratively with faculty and staff of all departments to enhance the career success of University of Georgia students/alumni. Several of the "nuts & bolts" services the UGA Career Center provides to its students include career counseling, job search training, and opportunities to connect with employers.
The Career Center also serves as a corporate gateway to the University by helping employers meet key faculty/staff, understand culture and curriculum, and successfully recruit UGA students and alumni. A broad group of corporate, government, and nonprofit employers recruit at The University of Georgia, and the Career Center facilitates this process through career fairs, on-campus interviews, and a variety of recruiting and educational programs and events.

Minimum Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications
• The preferred qualifications for this position include a master's degree in higher education, student personnel administration, counseling, or related field.
• Career services, student affairs, and/or mentorship program experience is preferred.
• Previous experience with student leadership development and programs is preferred.
• Previous supervision experience is preferred.
Position Summary
Reporting to the Director of the UGA Mentor Program, the Mentor Program Coordinator will support undergraduate, graduate, and professional students in developing their personal and professional networks through meaningful mentoring connections with UGA alumni, faculty, staff, and Friends of the University. The Mentor Program Coordinator will also provide engagement opportunities for Mentors through professional learning, programming, and events.
The Mentor Program Coordinator will work closely with campus partners, including but not limited to, UGA Development and Alumni Relations, Communications, Corporate Relations, UGA Career Center, Student Affairs, the Office of Institutional Diversity, etc. to personalize the mentorship experience for Mentors and Mentees across the University. The person in this position will develop a deep understanding of the culture of mentorship across the University and work to enhance existing resources, as well as create new ones. This position will interact with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Strong independent judgment and professional communication skills are required to collaborate, plan, prioritize, and organize the responsibilities of this role.

ENGAGEMENT
Engage internal and external stakeholders.
Actions include, but are not limited to:
• Serving as a liaison between students, faculty, staff, alumni, and other departments on day-to-day programmatic, operational, and administrative issues; facilitates seminars, meetings, special projects, and problem resolution.
• Supervising one Graduate Assistant for the UGA Mentor Program.
• Supervising the Board of Directors (student workers) for the UGA Mentor Program Student Ambassadors.
• Co-leading the UGA Mentor Program Student Ambassadors.
• Cultivating relationships with campus partners to expand mentorship for underrepresented students.
• Designing and publishing the development of promotional materials, educational materials, training resources, and/or newsletters as appropriate for the UGA Mentor Program.
• Designing and implementing UGA Mentor Program stewardship campaigns to express gratitude to our ambassadors, mentees, mentors, and campus partners.
• Designing and executing social media and marketing campaigns to increase the number of underrepresented students, staff, faculty, and alumni participating in the UGA Mentor Program.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT
Provide structure and direction for the UGA Mentor Program.
Actions include, but are not limited to:
• Providing recommendations and direction for the design and implementation of programs/events within the Xinspire platform and UGA Mentor Program using programmatic data and results.
• Providing data- driven recommendations and direction for the development, implementation, and marketing of the program.
• Providing recommendations and direction to improve the UGA Mentor Program Ambassador Program; acting on recommendations to move program forward.
• Designing programs and services to expand mentorship for underrepresented students and to increase the number of underrepresented students, staff, faculty, and alumni participating in the UGA Mentor Program.
• Coordinating and implementing the activities of students, faculty, staff, and/or alumni engaged in implementation and administration of program goals.
• Working closely with Xinspire to create and customize programs within the UGA Mentor Program platform, and train users in the platform interface.

• Sharing program data with internal and external stakeholders.
• Performing or delegating clerical and administrative support tasks, including developing and editing program correspondence, reports, and resources.
• Performing miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned such as, but not limited to, responding in a timely manner to emails and/or phone calls, recruiting students and student ambassadors, and work with Career Center staff members to enhance the UGA Mentor Program.
