Tuesday-Saturday 5:30am-2:00pm.
Employee will be required to work some weekend and overtime hours as needed, especially around special events, campus emergencies, or holidays.
No on-call rotation unless campus emergency.
Position is considered an essential worker.

Minimum Qualifications
Requires are least a high school diploma or equivalent. Please contact your Human Resources office for an evaluation of education/experience in lieu of the required minimum qualifications.

Valid CDL Class B or higher license in good standing or ability to obtain within one year of start date
Experience operating and maintaining heavy construction or waste management vehicles (to include cable and/or hook Roll Off trucks, Front End loaders- FEL , Rear Loader-RL, and/or pull behind trailers).
Position Summary
This employee reports to the Waste Reduction Supervisor. This individual collects and transports materials including solid waste, recyclables, and organics, and manages the infrastructure necessary to perform these duties. Primary duties include operating solid waste vehicles including but not limited to those requiring a Commercial Driver's License ( CDL ), such as front-end loaders, hook lift trucks, cable hoist trucks, rear packers, pickup truck and trailer, and a variety of large vehicles and/or heavy equipment. Position will conduct routine vehicle and infrastructure inspection and maintenance.
Employee will work some weekend and overtime hours as needed, especially around special events, campus emergencies, or holidays.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies
• Commercial Drivers License ( CDL ) Class B or higher.
• Knowledge and understanding of CDL vehicles in the Waste Reduction Services Fleet, such as cable and/or hook Roll-Off trucks, Front End Loaders ( FEL ), Rear Loaders ( REL ), and pull-behind trailers.
• Good safety record and considerable knowledge of the hazards involved in equipment operation and the safety precautions necessary.
• Prior related truck driving work experience.
Physical Demands
• Walk, stoop, bend, squat, lift, climb stairs, sit, and stand throughout an 8 hour shift.
• Lift up to 75lbs.
• Exposure to potential workplace hazards such as sharp objects or hazardous materials.
• Sitting in potentially bumpy, vibrating and/or loud vehicles.
• Drive large commercial vehicles in crowded campus setting.
