Cincinnati Children’s Division of Asthma Research is seeking exceptional candidates to join our well
established, rapidly growing division with the mission of improving the health of children with allergic
diseases through innovative research and team science. We seamlessly integrate basic discovery,
translational, clinical and community-based research approaches to study the development, treatment,
progression, and resolution of allergic diseases. We have multiple open faculty positions spanning
basic, translational, and clinical research.
The ideal candidate(s) possess(es) the following required qualifications:
-MD/DO and/or PhD
-Experience and track record of excellence in basic/translational research, clinical research,
community health and racial disparities, and/or clinical allergy/immunology (if MD/DO)
-Board Certified/Board Eligible if MD/DO
-Ohio Medical licensure eligible if MD/DO
Cincinnati Children’s is a non-profit children’s hospital that is ranked by US News and World Report as
4 in the nation with top rankings in all 10 specialties evaluated. It is the largest pediatric research
institution in the Midwest and internationally recognized for its clinical care, research and education. It is
the primary provider of inpatient, subspecialty and emergency care in Greater Cincinnati and the
surrounding counties serving over 2 million people. Cincinnati Children’s is a referral center for the
diagnosis and treatment of asthma and allergic disorders.
With $161 million (direct and indirect costs) in funding from the National Institutes of Health, Cincinnati
Children’s ranks third amongst all pediatric institutions in the nation. Cincinnati Children’s has state-ofthe-art research facilities including approximately 1.5 million square feet of contiguous research space.
Furthermore, the Cincinnati Children’s Research Foundation is supported by an endowment dedicated
to scientific training and research infrastructure, including the Shared Core Facilities, which span from
molecular and cell biology (e.g., Flow Cytometry; Gene Expression; DNA Sequencing; Gene Editing;
NMR-based Metabolomics; Pluripotent Stem Cell), to animal models (e.g., Mouse Models; Animal
Behavior and Phenotyping; Transgenic Animals and Genome Editing); to imaging (e.g., Confocal
Microscopy; Magnetic Resonance; Imaging), to Clinical Research.
The Division of Asthma Research has invested heavily in large mechanistic birth and disease cohorts
including the Mechanisms of Atopic Dermatitis to Asthma in Children (MPAACH), the Greater Cincinnati
Pediatric Clinic Repository (GCPCR), and the Ohio Pediatric Clinic Repository, with powerful biobank
resources that enable research and facilitate translation to the bedside. We have a multidisciplinary
infrastructure and actively collaborate with over 25 groups across Cincinnati Children’s.
Cincinnati has all the amenities of a large city including fantastic restaurants, professional sports teams,
nationally acclaimed performing arts, ballet, and orchestra with a small-town feel. The area’s residents
enjoy a wide variety of year-round outdoor activities, and the region also has some of the highest-rated
community schools in the state as well as multiple colleges and universities.
