Location Description
Michael Foods, Inc. located in Gaylord, Minnesota is Minnesota's Healthy Heartland! Gaylord is located in south central Minnesota about an hour west of the Twin Cities and 35 minutes from Mankato, Hutchinson, and New Ulm. As the County Seat, Gaylord is the "Hub of Sibley County." Our location produces liquid egg, hardcook egg, and precooked egg such as scrambled, patties and omelets.
Responsibilities
POSITION SUMMARY :
The purpose of the Driver is to haul manure from poultry houses to spreading units. Assist in application of the manure when needed. Perform truck and barn maintenance when needed.
Qualifications
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with customers, clients, co-workers and management.
• Maintains regular and consistent attendance in relation to production scheduling and or time volunteered for.
• Drives manure truck, loads, hauls and spreads manure according to MPCA guidelines by logging all loads. Responsible for completing all required documentation to ensure DOT compliant.
• Driver is required to regularly clean their truck cabs and trailers as needed in the appropriate truck cleaning areas.
• Any damages or need for repairs are to be brought to the attention of the By-Products Supervisor immediately.
• Completes daily equipment inspection before use each day.
• Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP’s, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• Driver’s license Class A CDL * Driver’s license with no more than two moving violations in the last five years.
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups, customers/vendors or employees of the organization.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
