JOB TITLE: WATER TREATMENT PLANT OPERATOR
PART-TIME EVENING SHIFT
Job Summary : The Water Treatment Plant Operator position is an entry level, part-time, hourly position within the Terrapin Beer Company Maintenance & Water Treatment department. Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, this position is responsible for performing a variety of skilled work for the operation of water treatment plant equipment.
This position will work a dedicated shift from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. on schedule days during the week and will work day shifts during weekends.
Duties and Responsibilities :
• Perform regularly scheduled maintenance, adjustment and repair to a variety of equipment, machinery and control systems in the water treatment plant and, as directed, in surrounding departments.
• Operate equipment to control water flow, spent grain and maintain proper operating levels. Checking and clearing of water treatment reclamation equipment and lines for obstructions.
• Servicing, maintaining, operating, and repairing facilities and equipment, including large-scale pumping devices, chlorination, and other chemical feed systems, storage facilities, and related equipment.
• Collecting samples of reclaimed water and spent grain and performing laboratory analyses to ensure that treatment facilities are operating efficiently.
• Making rounds of plants, reading gauges and readers, and recording readings.
• Maintaining, calibrating, and repairing a variety of mechanical and electrical equipment, including pumps, motors, controllers, valves, charts, and plant instrumentation.
• Maintaining maintenance and chemical analysis records, preparing logs, records, and reports, including required local, state, and federal reports.
• As directed, perform facility maintenance including general cleanup of area and surrounding departments within the manufacturing plant.
• Reading and interpreting plans, maps, and specifications.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge & Skills Requirements :
The ideal candidate would have 1-2 years' experience in a Water Treatment processing or similar job role. ( Or ) Secondary education in the fields of Industrial Systems, Water Treatment Processing, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science or similar degree programs. (Or) similar work experience and a minimum of a high school diploma/G.E.D.
Applicants, without an accommodation, must have the ability to frequently reach, twist, stoop, bend, crouch, stand and walk for 6-10 hour shifts and must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Applicants must be able to wear personal protective equipment and work in varying weather conditions that includes humidity and seasonal temperature changes.
