What’s the role?
As the Lab Technician I, you get to work with an astonishing team that plays a vital role in Carl Zeiss Vision (CZV). There is much to learn about in the world of optics! Here at ZEISS, you can develop skills and experience in the high-demand field of lens manufacturing. Our Lab Technicians do things like; Inspecting lenses, Lens Coating, Tinting, Packaging & Shipping, Invoicing & Billing, Data Entry to name a few. Your contributions to this team will literally help people to better see the world!

Here’s what you’ll do:

Perform routine production duties associated with various aspects of lens production while paying close attention to quality, quantity and efficiency.

Understands and complies with all safety standards, utilizes personal safety equipment and reports any safety concerns to leadership.

Qualifies and inspects products to ensure compliance with CZV specifications and standards.

Maintains appropriate written and/or computer documentation.

Works within a specific area and can be cross-trained to learn other areas.

Team player who likes to work in different workstations or product lines as production needs change.

Participation in meetings to enhance departmental communication and efficiency.

As you grow in your role you’ll be able to train peers

Other duties as needed
Do you qualify?

High School Diploma, GED or Equivalent Experience

0-2 years of related experience

Regularly able to lift 10 pounds (30 lbs in surfacing roles).

Must be able to apply up to 20 PSI by hand

Ability to perform repetitive movements; upper and lower extremities, sit and stand for prolonged periods.

Ability to sustain lengthy periods of visual concentration and good hand/eye/foot coordination with attention to detail and symmetry

Dexterity and mechanical skills

Troubleshooting, analytical skills, ability to focus, willingness to learn

Ability to work overtime when needed

Able to read English and identify numbers

Professional demeanor with good verbal and written communication with the ability to communicate in a clear, concise manner.

Working in a team as well as independently in a fast-paced, multi-tasking production environment.

Customer Service Mindset; Honest, Dependable, Professional, and able to see a task through

Excellent attendance record
Nice to haves:

General Office/ Computer Experience

Manufacturing Experience

Basic Knowledge of frames and Lenses

Manufacturing skill set.

(For Tinters) May require vision and/ or color hue recognition testing.
